Youth Sports Concussion Education and Baseline Testing Program

ConcussionEducationBaselineTesting

Fairfax Family Practice's Comprehensive Concussion Center has partnered with Youth Sports Concussion to provide quality and scientifically up to date education for student athletes and parents as well as Baseline NeuroCognitive testing using the ImPACT Applications software.

Concussion education sessions will include a 30 minute presentation by a concussion specialist including the recognition of signs and symptoms, what to do when you suspect an athlete has suffered a concussion and recommendations for follow-up. In addition, ample time will be provided for questions and answers.

This concussion education program fulfills the Virginia's Student Athlete Protection Act requirements. Along with a certificate of completion, a record of completion of the concussion education by each student athlete and parent will also be maintained to enable sports organizations to be accountable for all student athletes and parents that have completed concussion education.

SCHEDULE of Concussion Education and Testing Sessions

Open sessions are available for anyone to register. We also will arrange sessions for teams or leagues at a facility of your choice (school, library, office) or at our facility at Fair Oaks Hospital campus.
